Orange County Works to “Put the Brakes on Fatalities”

Press Conference – Monday, October 17th at 1:00 p.m.

Orange County, FL – Orange County Mayor Richard T. Crotty will be joined by State Representative Dean Cannon and Majority Leader Andy Gardiner to announce a pedestrian safety community awareness campaign. Also joining Mayor Crotty will be the Velez family who was tragically impacted in October, 2004 when a motorist struck their two young children.

Mayor Crotty will outline the county’s pedestrian safety plan and current happenings. Representative Cannon and Majority Leader Gardiner will discuss current legislation.

The presentation will include the unveiling of three unique billboards that will soon be seen around the county and Mayor Crotty will present a proclamation announcing the “Put the Brakes on Fatalities” Day in Orange County.

Orange County’s Public Safety Director Chief Jerry Demings will outline the current infrastructure and improvements in Orange County.
